How might we enable Sydney Swans fans to rapidly purchase merchandise at the game?

From 2024 to 2025 I was selected to take part as an Apple Ambassador for the Apple Experience with Telstra. Our goal was to create an experience for fans using Telstra's 5G network and the out of the box capabilities of Apple native iOS. Together with discovery workshops with stakeholders from Telstra and the Sydney Swans, I designed the fan merchandise experience for iOS. In just a few taps, fans can order their merchandise and pick it up at the game no logins, no apps, no queues.

It's game day at the SCG, fast-paced and full of energy. But for fans, buying merchandise can be hard—long queues, low stock, and unclear pickup points all get in the way. The Sydney Swans App Clip changes that. There’s no app to install. Fans scan, select their guernsey, and pay—right from their iPhone. Orders are ready for pickup on the way out. It’s a simple way to improve the fan experience while giving the club a fast, low-effort way to move merch.
